Vermont Total Solar Eclipse Naked Watch Party


Among the various watch parties being held on Monday, April 8th in communities across the entire path of the total solar eclipse within Vermont, will be ones where residents and visitors would be gathering outdoors in order to view the celestial event wearing nothing except their solar eclipse viewing glasses.


For those not already in the know, although disrobing in public is not legal, nor is lewd or lascivious behavior, as long as one disrobes in the privacy of one’s home, lodging or other indoor establishment or facility before exiting, it is legal in Vermont to go around bare naked in public.


Since for many, this is a once in a lifetime event, there are those who are planning on making it an even more memorable one by being naked during it.


Besides, except for before as well as afterwards, while wearing their solar eclipse viewing glasses during the event, it is not like anyone will be noticing those who are not wearing anything else. 



No, not really! 


Had only wished that this came to mind last week, for April Fool’s.


Consider this as being a belated April Fool’s Day joke of mine.

Regarding the plan by Governor Phil Scott's administration to host four huge regional, supposedly short-term, congregate homeless shelters across the state,  a question has arisen within my mind about it (rhetorically posed; and, please excuse my bluntness as well as outrage, however), ... Is anyone -- other than myself -- asking how much $$$ this, for the lack of a better or more appropriate term, * pure baloney * er, absurd plan will cost and where all the funds will come from ❓❗ If not, I sure wish someone would ask and try to get an honest answer from whomever can best provide it, sooner rather than later.   According to a recent Seven Days article, here , the City of Montpelier is currently seeking to have the lot, which formerly hosted the Guertin Parklet structure (before the city had it removed in early May of 2022), developed; ironically, potentially, for housing: The Montpelier City Council is seeking developers’ proposals for a half-acre downtown lot that drew locals' complaints and repeated visits from police in recent years after its gazebo became a gathering place for people experiencing homelessness. [...] “It’s one of the pieces of the housing puzzle that the city can help with,” said Josh Jerome, Montpelier’s community and economic development specialist.
